A lot of people ask me how I got where I am in my online life coaching business. They want to know how I not only started BlissFireMedia, but also how it became what it is today. How did I stop working for other people and start doing what I love? How did I build my YouTube Channel? What can they do to create their own job – just like me?

I’ve told the story a thousand times. I built a mastermind group where I help people build their own businesses. I’ve done a bunch of free trainings.

But maybe what I’ve missed is this one little thing: obsession. And hard work.

See, I always say when you love what you’re doing, it doesn’t feel like work. And that’s absolutely true. But there’s so much more to it than that – because if you’re going to build a business that is successful, you MUST – I mean YOU HAVE TO – work hard. And by that I mean that you must commit yourself and do the work even when you feel like – well, NOT doing the work.

But you must be so obsessed with your goals that you rarely take days off, and you are always ALWAYS thinking about how to make your mission more effective, how to deliver your message better, how to grow your tribe and how to be more genuine in your business. Even when you’re not “really” thinking about it, it’s got to be in the back of your mind.

And your goals? They cannot be all about money if you’re going to succeed as an empath entrepreneur. If you’re solely focused on money, you’re going to lose sight of the mission. The mission must be genuine and you must be genuine in your desire to help people. So much so that, while you’re not willing to give away your time (because everyone needs boundaries), you are willing to give away information – and lots of it.

You have to be willing to truly, madly and deeply connect with your tribe. You have to be yourself, and you have to admit that you’re not perfect. No one likes a fake person – be as real as you can.

You have to be able to solve a problem that people need help with, and you have to be willing to tell them how to do it for free through your public content – videos, blog posts, articles, podcasts, infographics. And then, once you establish yourself as an authority in your very specific niche, you have to be ready to open your business to coaching sessions, creating courses and premium content, writing books and more – all of it designed to help your tribe solve their problems and make their lives better. And you have to be willing to be innovative and to think outside the box.

And along the way? You have to LOVE LOVE LOVE all of it. The whole process. Truly.

That is how you do it. That is how I did it.

The only thing I’d have done differently is to niche down sooner and to get on YouTube sooner.
